Replacement slim double-glazed units for listed properties are important to create not only the correct visual appearance but also providing modern thermal attributes and yet fully comply with planning regulations.

The cylinder glass is made by a craftsman in the traditional method of blowing a bottle-shaped cylinder. Once the cylinder is ready it is cooled and the two ends are removed.

The cylinder is then reheated and opened out to create a flat piece of glass with thickness between 2mm – 4mm.

Cylinder glass has a gently distorting reflection with small imperfections which give it a very distinctive character.
