Oxfordshire Cottage New Sash & Casement Windows

A period cottage in Oxfordshire required replacement casement and sash windows together with bespoke built-in furniture for several rooms.

At Herald Joinery we hand-built 34 windows using Slenderpane glass, comprising both casement and traditional sash windows, internal panelled doors and external French door sets, in our workshop in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire.

The external joinery was manufactured using ‘Sepele’ a durable and sustainable hardwood. The joinery was then sprayed in the workshop with our high quality microporous paint system before adding the heritage slim line double glazed units provided by our sister company Slenderpane.

The slim doubled glazed units were made-to-measure for each window and were installed in the window frame before delivering to the client’s house. The glazed units were 14mm thick with warm edge white spacers and 7mm sightlines. We used Krypton gas as it has exceptional thermal insulation qualities and assists with noise reduction.

We installed the doors and windows and finished with a final coat of paint once fitted.

The client was very pleased with the end result and remarked on the minimal disruption during installation. From enquiry, through the design and quoting stage to manufacture and final installation took under 12 weeks and fitted within the client’s requested timescale.
